Friends, the CBEC in concurrence of the department of expenditure vide letter MOF (Exp)/FTS no.843670/2010-E.IV (F.No. 19051/3/2010-E.IV) dated 13.09.2010 issued a letter to all the heads of departments under CBEC regarding revision of rates of uniform allowance.
As per the CBEC letter F.No.A-26017/22/2008. II.A (pt) dated 28.09.2010 issued under signature of Mr. L.R. Agrawal (Director AD.IIA) rates of uniform has been revised with effect from 01.09.2008. The Initial equipment allowance for Gazetted and Non-Gazetted Executive staff including Airport staff under CBEC has been revised from existing allowance of Rs.2000/- to Rs.4000/-, similarly the annual replacement allowance is revised from existing 1250/- to 2500/- w.e.f. 01.09.2008.
As per the letter rates of allowance will be increased by 25% every time the dearness allowance on revised pay bands goes up by 50% .
It has also been mentioned in the letter that ‘Heads of the Department may ensure that the staff concerned actually wears the uniform and the uniform purchased by all them is of the same quality.
