Indefinite Strike - Deferred

Dear friends,

In view of Setting up of Anomaly Committee by the government to settle the anomalies arising out of the implantation the 6th CPC recommendations, it has been decided in the meeting of the National Executive of the Confederation held on 15.01.2009 at New Delhi not to commence the strike action from 20th January, 2009 but defer the same to a future date.

Sub: Notice for indefinite strike dated 20-01-2009

We solicit your kind reference to our letter of even No. dated 06-01-2009 intimating the decision of our All India Association to go on indefinite strike with effect from 20-01-2009 onwards.

I have been directed by the Secretary General, All India Central Excise Inspectors, Association, kolkata to inform you that as per decision of the Confederation of CGEs and Workers to which our Association is affiliated, the proposed strike action, which is to commence from 20th Jan, 2009 has been deferred for the time being until the next meeting of the National Executive, which is scheduled to be held in February, 2009.

We enclose herewith a copy of the confederation letter addressed to the Cabinet Secretary. However, we take this opportunity to request you to kindly take steps to bring about a settlement of the issues in Section III of the Charter of Demands which are Department-specific".
